Teaches courses within the Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (t-DPT), Transitional Occupational Therapy Doctorate (t-OTD), Doctor of Nursing Science (DNSc), PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD Rehab) degree programs, and the Doctor of Science in Movement Sciences (DScMvt) degree programs.

Biography

Jason Ashby is a physical therapist with over 22 years of experience, primarily in outpatient orthopedics and home health care. He graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology, Cleveland State University with a Master’s in Physical Therapy, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy. He is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, a certified lymphedema therapist, certified in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine and extremities, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Dr. Ashby’s areas of research include manual therapy and the effects of force production, as well as learning differences and accommodations in physical therapy students. He is a member of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Continuing Education Committee, and a member of the International Federation of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists Advisory Group on Membership Development.
